Denim Day NL and the organizations of Denim Day New York are partnering intensively. In NewYork there is years of experience with Denim Day. They have collected the stories of victims who tell how big the impact is. Stories that New York and the Netherlands will share with each other with of course at all times the consent of the victims. Studies and possible results of Denim Day will be exchanged. By the cooperation between New York and Amsterdam we strengthen each other's missions and tackle the problem worldwide.

It's an important message. It's really important that you guys in Holland take up this cause and take the torch and run with it. You, the Netherlands is going to help take it even further across the border in Europe so I think it's really a good thing and I'm really excited about the embankment of that now happening in the Netherlands. Sexual transgressive behavior is deeply rooted, including in Dutch society: 53 percent of women have been harassed at one time or another, and 22 percent were victims of sexual violence at least once. One in four women is silent about what she has experienced. Half of both men and women who became victims of sexually unwanted behavior continued to suffer consequences.
Recent research by CBS and the Scientific Research and Documentation Center (WODC) shows, among other things, that half of Dutch women under 24 have recently experienced sexual harassment or violence.
Every year, about 100,000 young people and children experience online sexual transgression or abuse. Only a small percentage of young people dare to talk about it, and even fewer victims come forward to social services.
Did you know that because of all forms of border crossing, 1.2 million people are sitting at home? Or did you know that border crossings cost the Netherlands a sloppy 30 billion? That it is also just a Business?
Denim Day will take place on April 26, 2023 New York City! Various activities will be organized in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhatten, Queens and Staten Island. At 18:00 Dutch time, they will walk together in jeans to a square in Manhatten. There they will engage politicians and the press in conversation. Together they will draw attention to the message: There is no excuse for sexually inappropriate behavior.
